Security and Privacy Policies
Providing you with a secure online experience is a high priority of the City of Irving. We recognize that your information security is of the utmost importance, and we have devoted a great deal of effort to ensure that your personal information is safeguarded.
This site uses Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) for secure transmissions. SSL applies encryption between two communicating applications, such as your PC and the server. When your data is transmitted over the Internet, it is encrypted or "scrambled" at the sending end and then decrypted or "unscrambled" at the receiving end. Your name, other personal information, and all credit cards and other payment information that you transmit to us will be protected by 128-bit encryption technology, provided your browser is properly configured and your computer is operating properly. Security technology requires that you have a reasonably current browser that is capable of supporting 128-bit encryption. Current browsers such as these will activate the appropriate security features when you enter an online transaction through this site. In general, you can determine whether you are on a secure site by looking at the symbol at the bottom of your browser screen. If the key is unbroken or the lock is locked it indicates that you are using a secure server. These services are designed to ensure the privacy of your credit card information, name, address, email and other information you provide to us.
We will not collect personally identifiable information about you when you visit our website unless you choose to provide that information to us. We do not give, share, sell, or transfer any personal information to a third party.

- Pages you visited. This tells us what is popular/helpful/interesting.
- Browser you use. This allows us to keep our site accessible to as many people as possible.
- For site management functions, aggregated information is collected for analysis and statistical purposes. The City does not report or use this information in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information, and does not release this information to any outside parties unless required to do so under applicable law.
For site security purposes and to ensure the site remains available to all users, the City uses software to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or to otherwise cause damage to the site. Anyone using this Web site expressly consents to such monitoring.
We track the keywords that are entered into our search engine to measure interest in specific topics, but we do not track which terms a particular user enters.
